Green Economics and Management

Introduction

Nowadays, our planet is at stake and the problem of global warming is more and more important. Thus everyone has to adopt a responsible behavior in terms of gases emissions, waste management, energy control and transportation way. Thanks to some global meetings like Kyoto protocol, Copenhagen meeting about climate changes, all governments have the responsibilities of make things change in their own countries (decrease of carbon emissions, improvement of their carbon footprint, their energy control…) As a consequence, each city has to review its local policy as regards transportation ways, energy control, buildings, industrial environment.

In this project we will compare two significant examples of eco-cities: first, Dongtan, a Chinese project that aimed to be the first eco-city in the world and secondly Freiburg in Germany, that is one of the best example of an eco-friendly city all over the world. At least we will compare those two examples and try to define which one is the more realistics.
